Welcome to the 33rd International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics – MIPRO 2010

The thirty-third International MIPRO Convention takes place from 24th to 28th May 2010 in the Congress Centre of the Grand Hotel Adriatic and Hotel Admiral in Opatija, at the Adriatic coast, in the region with the longest tourist and congress tradition, dating back to the mid-19th century.

The work of the Convention will take place in the form of eleven scientific and professional symposia, seminars of continuous education, round tables, workshops, invited lectures, exhibition of ICT and electronic equipment, technical solutions and services. We expect more than a thousand participants from 30 countries, from all continents.

Thanks to the varied content and their actuality, MIPRO Convention has been for a number of years a very significant meeting point of scientists, businessmen, persons from the educational branch (all levels), managers, and officials in public services. Its synergic role significantly contributes to its broader social role which is recognized, for a number of years already, not only in Croatia, but also in the world. MIPRO is a unique Convention by its concept and quality and belongs to a group of six most important and most influential international meetings taking place in Croatia.

Its mission of spreading the knowledge MIPRO synthesises in the well known syntagm of John Wallis Lampadem tradere which signifies MIPRO's path toward the society of knowledge.

We thank to all those who contributed to the organization of this complex event, whether it is with their ideas and work or by sponsorships and donations. Their number is great. These are all the group members of MIPRO, the general sponsor T-Croatian Telecom, IEEE Region 8 and its Croatian Section, bodies of the MIPRO Association and especially the International Program Committee and the Mayors of Rijeka and Opatija, Mr. Vojko Obersnel and Mr. Ivo Dujmić. We are especially grateful to the management and staff of Hotel Adriatic which have been hosting the MIPRO Conventions for more than three decades. We are thankful to the bodies of state administration and all the patrons. Of course, and to our numerous participants which give full meaning to our (and their) Convention.

Welcome to MIPRO 2010 in the always beautiful and hospitable Opatija.

Professor Petar Biljanović, PhD, International Program Committee President
