We invite you to follow the livestream of the formal opening ceremony of the MIPRO 2025 Convention on Wednesday, June 4 at 10 a.m.

We have several surprises and news at this year's convention. Artificial intelligence will be used once more to translate in all EU languages as part of the opening ceremony. The first part of the opening will be devoted to the Nobel laureate Prof. Ferenc Krausz and his plenary lecture SUB-ATOMIC MOTIONS - From capturing electrons to speeding up signal processing. This will be followed by the MIPRO Annual ICT Award ceremony for a significant contribution to the development of ICT and a keynote lecture by Matjaž Gmas on Superintelligence is Coming – How to Upgrade Our Societies NOW?

We invite representatives of industry, academia and public administration to actively engage in the discussion and jointly shape the path towards a more resilient, humane and sustainable industry of the future. Industry 5.0 goes beyond the automation and digitalization of the previous phase (Industry 4.0), emphasizing the human dimension of technology, the resilience of production systems and the sustainability of business models. The panel will discuss how European and regional industry can seize the opportunities brought by this new industrial paradigm – from the application of artificial intelligence and digital twins, to the development of organizational models based on human-machine collaboration.

SUB-ATOMIC MOTIONS
From capturing electrons to speeding up signal processing

Born at the dawn of the new millennium, attosecond “photography” has opened the door for capturing sub-atomic motions as they evolve in time. Control of the oscillating electric field of light has permitted the attosecond control of electrons with unprecedented precision in space and time.

Prof. dr. Ferenc Krausz, awarded by the Nobel Prize

Prof. Dr. Ferenc Krausz is a physicist who was awarded the Wolf Prize and the Nobel Prize. In 2004, he was appointed Director of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Garching, Germany. Since 2004, alongside his role at the Max Planck Institute, he has been the Chair of Experimental Physics – Laser Physics at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität. Between 2006 and 2009, he co-founded and served as the Founding Director of the Munich-Centre for Advanced Photonics. From 2010 to 2019, he served as the Director of the center, and from 2010 to 2016, he was also a Visiting Professorat Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in South Korea. Since 2015, he has been the Founding Director of the Centre for Advanced Laser Applications at LMU Munich. In 2019, he became the Executive Director of the Center for Molecular Fingerprinting.

Matteo Francia, an assistant professor at the University of Bologna (Italy), will give an invited talk on “Unified Data Platforms: Challenges and Opportunities in the Era of Heterogeneous Big Data” within the BIS-BDP conference at this year's MIPRO convention. 
 

The talk will provide an overview of issues and future research opportunities in dynamic field of more complex ecosystems for data collection, processing, and exploitation.

Superintelligence is Coming – How to Upgrade Our Societies NOW?

This presentation will provide an overview of key areas where AI is enabling significant upgrades – including education, bureaucracy, and healthcare – along with practical examples of ongoing implementations. As a case study, HomeDOCtor will be showcased – an AI-powered virtual doctor with an estimated IQ of 150, currently operating 24/7 in Slovenia.

One part of the program content can be accessed free of charge - plenary part, forums, round tables and exhibition. For other contents of the convention, it is necessary to pay the registration fee.

Revolutionary Applications of Attophysics in Medicine and Computing

This year's 48^th MIPRO Convention will host one of the most prominent scientists of our time! Prof. Dr. Ferenc Krausz, winner of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics and director at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics, is coming to Croatia to give a plenary lecture on revolutionary applications of attophysics in medicine and computing.
