Invited lecturers Željka Car and Ivo Majerski at MIPRO 2019 Professor Željka Car and Ivo Majerski will give an invited talk on “The Challenges of Digital Accessibility” within the Telecommunications and Information Conference at MIPRO 2019. National and European legislation puts in focus accessibility of web sites and mobile applications. The challenges of accessibility are related to insufficient awareness and knowledge in this area at designers, developers and content providers' site. Accessibility is an area that provides great opportunities for finding innovative technical solutions but includes a very heterogeneous group of users and experts. Their collaboration creates the preconditions for digital inclusion based on information and communication technology. Well defined methodology for providing accessible web-content and accessible telecom operators' services, creates added value that is beneficial to all stakeholders in inclusive digital world. In the invited talk current trends in this domain and joint research activities of university, telecom operators and regulatory authority will be presented. Željka Car, Ph.D. is full professor at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. She is head of the research Laboratory for Alternative and Augmentative Communication and Assistive Technology and she coordinates activities of Competence Network ICT-AAC. Ivo Majerski works at Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) as communications coordinator. He leads and coordinates internal and external communication and HAKOM’s programme and report activities.
